Reorder Valeton GP-100 Presets by Drag & Drop

Welcome to our preset manager for Valeton GP-100 users! Here’s how you can rearrange your patches in a few easy steps:

Directions:

  1. Export All Patches From Valeton GP-100 Software to PC: Connect the unit to your PC via USB and run GP-100 software (available on Valeton website). On the bottom right, click on Export Button, and select "Export All Patches"". Provide a name for the file when saving from the unit (e.g., MyPatches.prst). Save it to your PC to upload it to this tool (ValetonSort).
  2. Upload Your Preset File: Click on the Upload .prst file button below, then find and select the file you just exported. The file has a .prst extension.
  3. View your patches: Once the preset file is uploaded, the patches will be listed on this page.
  4. Sort Your Patches by Drag & Drop: Simply change the order of the presets by dragging them to their new location. They will be assigned new order numbers.
  5. Rename your Patches: Click the rename icon on the right side of the patch to rename it and hit enter (or click the icon to complete).
  6. Save New Preset File: Once you are happy with the new order settings, click on “Save” to download the new preset file. A link will appear for you to download the modified file from your browser. Check your download destination to find the downloaded file.
  7. Import to Device: Go back to the Valeton GP-100 software on your PC. Make sure it is connected by USB cable. Click the "Import" button of the GP-100 software found at the bottom right. Find the preset file you just downloaded from this tool. The newly rearranged patches will appear in the software, once imported.
  8. WARNING This one-page web application does not guarantee that the modified file will work. Make sure you back up your patches before using it. This tool comes as-is. It has undergone basic testing on V1.4.0 and does not guarantee support for newer versions. It is strictly for the GP-100 model.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I reorder (sort) my Valeton GP-100 patches?

You can easily organize (reorder, arrange or sort) your Valeton GP-100 patches using the ValetonSort tool (this web app). Here’s how:

  • Export your patches from the Valeton GP-100 software to your PC.
  • Upload the .prst file to this web app (ValetonSort) from Upload .prst file button.
  • Use the drag-and-drop feature to rearrange your patches.
  • Save the new preset file and import it back into your GP-100.
Can I rename my Valeton GP-100 patches?

Yes, you can rename your Valeton GP-100 patches using this tool: ValetonSort:

  • Upload your .prst file
  • Click the rename icon next to the patch you want to rename.
  • Enter the new name and press Enter or click the checkmark icon.
  • Save the updated file and import it back into your GP-100.
What is the use of sorting patches?

Patches list may get messy over time. It may need customization. Placing a patch at a patch number you want manually could be time consuming. This tool will save you time. Here are some common reasons you might want to do this:

  • You have a gig and you want to group patches together in the order you want, by song names.
  • You want to go through the patches and rename them quickly to save time and then import them back to GP-100.
  • You are creating patches for your recordings or online jam sessions, and need to create clean tones to high gain ones in ascending order.
  • You don't want to do repetitive tasks in Valeton GP-100 Software. Normally to move a patch, you need to export a single patch (save it to a file), then select a new location and import it back to overwrite. Since it overwrites selected patch, you lose the previous patch. This makes it difficult, especially if you have several patches to move around.
Are there any limitations to sorting GP-100 patches?

Yes, please keep the following in mind:

  • This tool is designed specifically for the Valeton GP-100 model.
  • It has been tested on V1.4.0 and may not support newer versions.
  • Always back up your patches before using the tool.
  • The tool comes as-is and does not guarantee compatibility with all setups.
