Frequently Asked Questions

How can I sort (reorder) my Valeton GP-100 preset patches?

You can easily organize (reorder, arrange, or sort) your Valeton GP-100 patches using the ValetonSort tool (this web app). Here’s a simple guide:

  • Export your patches from the Valeton GP-100 software to your PC as a .prst file.
  • Upload the exported .prst file to this web app (ValetonSort) using the "Upload .prst file" button.
  • Utilize the intuitive drag-and-drop feature to rearrange the order of your patches.
  • Once satisfied with the new order, save the modified preset patch file.
  • Finally, import the newly saved .prst file back into your Valeton GP-100 software.
Can I rename my Valeton GP-100 patches using Valetonsort tool?

Yes, ValetonSort allows you to rename your Valeton GP-100 patches with ease:

  • First, upload your .prst file to the tool.
  • Next to each patch, you'll find a rename icon . Click this icon for the patch you wish to rename.
  • Enter the desired new name for the patch and press Enter on your keyboard or click the checkmark icon to confirm.
  • After renaming, remember to save the updated file and import it back into your GP-100 software.
Why should I sort my patches?

Over time, your Valeton GP-100 patch list can become disorganized and difficult to navigate. Manually moving individual patches within the GP-100 software can be a tedious process. This tool streamlines the process and saves you valuable time. Here are some common reasons for sorting your patches:

  • For live performances, group your patches by song or setlist order for quick access.
  • Quickly rename multiple patches to better reflect their sounds or intended use.
  • Organize your patches by sonic characteristics (e.g., clean to high-gain) for recording or practice sessions.
  • Avoid the cumbersome process of exporting and importing individual patches within the GP-100 software, which can be especially time-consuming when dealing with numerous patches. This tool allows for bulk reordering and renaming.
Are there any limitations to sorting GP-100 patches with this tool?

While you have the flexibility to reorder, organize, sort, and rename your Valeton GP-100 patches as needed, please consider the following:

  • This tool is specifically designed for the Valeton GP-100 model. Compatibility with other Valeton devices is not guaranteed.
  • The tool has been tested primarily with firmware version V1.4.0. Support for newer firmware versions is not explicitly guaranteed.
  • It is strongly recommended that you always create a backup of your original patch files before using this tool to prevent any potential data loss.
  • This web application is provided on an "as-is" basis, and we cannot guarantee compatibility with all individual computer setups or future software/firmware updates.
